A Turkish bath, also known as a hammam, is a traditional public bath from the Ottoman Empire. It typically involves a sequence of bathing and steaming in a hot, humid room followed by exfoliation and massage.
Compared to other types of baths, such as a regular shower or a Western-style sauna, a Turkish bath emphasizes relaxation and cleansing through a social and communal experience.
It also typically involves a more extensive and ritualistic cleansing process that may include using traditional materials such as black soap, a kese mitt, and eucalyptus oil.
1- Cağaloğlu Hamam
I highly recommend this place. It is one of the best experiences of my life. I had no idea how enjoyable it could be to have someone else bathe me. The foam wash/massage was the best part for me.
It was so luxurious and unlike anything I had done before. The staff was extremely friendly and guided me through the process.
They provided me with all the supplies, so I just needed to show up and enjoy the lovely Turkish refreshments throughout. With its beautiful ceiling, the historic building was breathtaking and added to the serene atmosphere. Just be aware females and males are separated here.

2- Sultan Süleyman Hamam Traditional Turkish Bath - Antusa Palace
I highly recommend the Deluxe package at this Haman. The staff provided exceptional service, paying close attention to every detail. The massage was fantastic, and the atmosphere was private and dignified. During the 2.5-hour session, water and tea were offered, and there was plenty of space for both couples and singles.
Although the installation is in a hotel and has a spa-like feel, it is immaculately clean. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I am already looking forward to my next visit to Istanbul.
While it may not be a historical place, it is still a must-visit destination for those seeking relaxation and pampering. The massages by Downi and Nirmala were outstanding, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
3- Ağa Hamamı
I had a fantastic experience during my first visit to Istanbul and my first Turkish bath. The warm bath stone and sauna were a great start, followed by the most fantastic scrub and foam bath that left my skin feeling like liquid silk butter. The oil massage was the perfect conclusion to a thoroughly enjoyable session.
I highly recommend this experience to anyone who has the opportunity. Additionally, the atmosphere of the Turkish bath was top-notch, and I am grateful for the experience.

4- Sultan Süleyman Hamam Traditional Turkish Bath - Great Fortune Design
Look no further for a life-changing experience during your visit to Istanbul! I can say that nothing anywhere compares to the value and quality of this Hamem. If you want the best Hamem in Istanbul, this is the place.
The service is exceptional, and the facilities are secure, with private lockers for your belongings. The massage is long, unique, and strong, and the sauna, steam room, wash, and tea/drinks only add to the experience. Gul, in particular, is a fantastic masseuse, but everyone here is exceptional. I enjoyed it so much that I will return twice more before leaving Turkey in a week. This location is perfect for melting away your stress and depression.
